We shot Catching The Sun a few years ago, but life, budget, time… so many things got in the way of pushing it over the finish line. Last November the planets aligned or maybe the meds adjustment did it, and I found myself looking over the footage, editing, tweaking sound and feeling the injustice of my not putting the film out after all the great effort from the cast and crew. While the film was being edited, in January of this year (2025) our beloved friend Carey Harrison, who plays Wally in the film, passed away – a terrible loss to his family, friends and community, and a sad but powerful reminder to carpe the hell out of the diem, as Carey always managed to do. Now the film is ready and I’m looking for the venues and festivals where it can find a home and an audience. Also staring the wonderful and talented Robert Langdon-Lloyd and equally wonderful and talented Lachlan Brooks. As always, I stand on the shoulders of giants, and am perpetually amazed that they don’t swat me off their epaulets.
